Wellness for All Workshop: The Changed Mindset Challenge

Many of us can identify! NOW is a good time for you to slow down, take a break, and have positive personal development available for you to work through at your convenience. Why? Because you need to be reminded how great you are!
Are you, or do you know, a teacher, parent, administrator, office or support staff, mental health worker, activist, athlete, artist, who is on overload, trying to run the best office/classroom/ household/school/relationship/family/business by trying to create a sense of wellbeing in a healthy, collaborative way? Hard to do, with so many demands!
You are all running your own household whether you are single, with a partner, married with kids, or taking care of aging parents? Too many needs, not enough time.
Feeling overwhelmed, stretched, frustrated, depressed, anxious, or worried? The ramifications of the pandemic are still very much alive-especially in schools-worldwide.
Are we really ‘all in this together’? I bet there are days when you feel very much alone.
Teachers are expected to provide social-emotional learning (SEL) as a methodology for their students with an already filled timetable? Unless they have a complete SEL curriculum, with a support team surrounding them, this request cannot work. First, we adults need to understand SEL skills since they impact on everyone- not just teachers!
We, adults, did not ever cover the topic of social-emotional skills during our school years either. Many of us continue to have difficulty dealing with emotions like guilt, shame, resentment, anger, frustration, worry, overwhelm, setting boundaries, people-pleasing, enabling etc. Adults need support too! New eyes/new perspective!
NOW is the time to learn the backstory about WHY dealing with emotions is difficult. Yet, it MUST start with the adults-not the children-yet! This workshop series is one that has both personal and professional development components. It is helpful for everyone. Anyone taking it will benefit.
Some insights are:
* What your body needs to do to permanently relax during stressful times.
* How your thoughts become your beliefs and your beliefs become your decisions that become your feelings, habits, and experiences in life. To change what isn’t working for you, all you need to do is to make better decisions. Why?
* Because what’s on your mind, will impact on your body. For some, not in a good way. You know the days-where you need to call in sick-just to get a rest.
* The life experiences that really take a toll on your health and how to identify them!

As a forever educator I continue to see far too many teachers, administrators, mental health support workers, students, parents, friends, and families burn out, totally exhausted as they operate in a fight, flight, or freeze state. (Primal state) It hurts my heart to see so many, suffering.

Workshop Content Includes:
The Introduction to the ‘Changed Mindset Challenge’: Sifting through the massive amount of work that David Bayer has written was a full-time job. This is my condensed version of David’s workshops, with content applicable to those of you interested in learning the reason that socialemotional skills MUST matter to you, your students, your family, and your workplace.
Besides a computer, you will need a journal that will be referred to as your Wellness Journal. And yes, you will write your responses – not type them. A bigger payoff that will make your brain happy! In this
opening, you will watch David being interviewed so you get to know who he is and what he is
about. This Introduction will set the tone for what’s to come! Try it now!
Workshop Week # 1: Life Fulfillment: Limiting Beliefs Checklist and More: This exercise is designed to help identify the thoughts and beliefs that are preventing you from moving forward in accomplishing certain goals and dreams in your life, as well as limiting your everyday experiences. You will gain many insights about yourself that you probably have not stopped long enough to consider before today. How You Change Your State and Maslow’s Hierarchy of Needs charts will explain what we go through to achieve self-fulfillment.
Workshop Week # 2: The Hero’s Journey: This is a book written by Joseph Campbell. In his book, he examines the 12 stages of the hero who goes on an adventure, faces a crisis and wins, then returns victorious. In this workshop, you will learn these 12 stages. Using the provided graphic organizer, you will outline your own Hero’s Journey. Because you, too, need to be victorious!
Workshop Week # 3: Limiting Beliefs: Lucky you! You will work on a checklist here to see what your 3-4 top limiting beliefs are. You will also learn about the two states we operate from and what you can do to change those states. Give this some serious consideration. This work matters!
Workshop Week # 4: Changing Your Beliefs: You will be amazed how important the nervous system is to our wellbeing. Making new and better decisions; becoming responsible; accepting that you do not have to ‘know how’ to get to the next step, is refreshing. You just need a correct intention. A Ted Talk on Mindset and Success brings this workshop full circle!
Workshop Week # 5: Resentments: It is here we learn why we MUST deal with resentment as it can cripple us for years. It is known as ‘the cord that binds us.’ The concepts presented here may get you re-thinking about some of your beliefs and the philosophies that you have lived by – until now! A Resentment Inventory is something everyone needs to do and when you watch the Marisa Peer YouTube, you will understand why we need to forgive!
Workshop Week # 6: The Power of Healthy Decisions: What a finale this is! We look at the Evolution of the Species, what the evidence tells us and the 5 Step Process of David Bayer’s Decision Matrix. Believe me when I say this is the BEST tool to use from this point forward IF you want to make a better-informed decision that bring you the results you want!
